Hey guys - serious threading has been iffy for me these past few days, but I just wanted everyone to know that I will be picking up Ahiru's post in the near future, and I hope you'll all continue with me then ♥

canned blurb: the following gifts were or are supposed to be given by Ahiru for christmas. If you would like to play out a thread where your character receives the item/items, please point me to a thread I can jump- but be warned! My net is very spotty, and a single thread could potentially take days to complete.

If you don't want to play anything, but your character has something to give to Ahiru, again, just leave me a comment on this post letting me know what the gift was.

Ahiru didn't actually know that christmas had anything to do with presents until pretty much the day before, so she was running around like a duck chicken with its head cut off and has wound up... um. giving away her own things, if her friends will take them.

Mytho: will be asked to dance when next she sees him
Rue: gets to keep the scarf she gave her? T_Td
Tokitoh: the gloves that went with that scarf and OH BOY I would be SHOCKED if they fit him but... she knows he likes gloves?
Rabi: the CD of music Buffy made her way back when (March of the Sinister Ducks may MYSTERIOUSLY be on there too) because Rabi likes dancing and music right?
Teazer: I'm going to say that at some point Ahiru got one of those cheesy charm bracelets all little girl have, and Teazer can have that because it is SHINY.
Simon and River: get the CD of music Wes helped her download and burn >_>

aaaaand

Fakir: Fakir I don't know what to give you I don't read books like you do and I'm sure you have your own music to practice to by now and um um would you like a duck pillow? I don't know!!

Character: Ahiru (Princess Tutu)
Series: Princess Tutu [site (of sorts)]
Age: 13

Canon: Once upon a time there was a man who died. The last story the man was writing was about a brave prince who vanquishes a crafty raven. When the man died, the raven and the prince escaped from within the story. The prince used a forbidden power and took out his own heart to seal away the raven. Thus the raven troubled them no more. But the prince's heart was shattered, and the shards scattered all over town. Ever since then, stories and realities have intermingled in this place, making it a world where the fantastical is no longer fantastical. -- Princess Tutu, episode 2

Princess Tutu is a magical girl anime with a surprisingly dark and intricate plot, and a group of characters who are aware of its existence as a story. For example: Ahiru, our heroine, was not originally a part of the tale at all. She was a duck who the author in a fit of boredom and sadistic whimsy granted the power to change into a girl whenever she touches the water, and back to a bird if she says or does anything ducklike. And this insanity is only the beginning. For Ahiru, duck or girl, can also become Princess Tutu, a fairytale heroine with the power to return the shards of her Prince's heart. When not within the prince, these pieces tend to bury themselves deep within the psyches of various susceptible characters- engulfing them in emotions not their own (it should be noted that each shard is a specific feeling.) To find them, Ahiru must first meet such a person, then assume her role as Tutu to coax the sliver of heart out of hiding with her dancing.

Day to day Ahiru is loveable and sweet, if no small part spastic. She’s rock bottom in her ballet classes, she’s got some sort of allergic reaction to being on time, and more often than not when she tries to explain herself she blushes, stammers, and falls all over herself. As Tutu, she is self contained and graceful. As a duck, she... she's an adorable bird. What.

Ummm. This is going to seem like a strange way to present myself and I know I shouldn’t be so forward anyway or rather it’s okay to introduce yourself but you really shouldn’t start with asking personal questions at least not until you’ve given some personal answers but really there’s nothing special about me anyway so it doesn’t matter but there’s something—that is, the reason I came here— I mean—!

I should start over. Can I try that again? I’m going to start again.

Have any of you ever had a feeling? I mean, not just any feeling but a very special one? One that was so strong you thought it might just take you over and you’d never have another so powerful ever again? I know that’s kind of a funny thing to be asking but it’s, well, it’s very important for me to know this.

And, uh, if you have had a feeling like that….

………it wouldn’t happen to be the feeling of walking through the woods alone at night and then suddenly your lantern goes out and you realize there’s something stuck to the bottom of your shoe and now it’s seeping up around your toes and whatever it is it’s still moving-

Would it?

Because apparently that’s, um. A very essential feeling that a f-friend of mine has never experienced. And your director said that this shard- eeh! No! Just that there would definitely be someone here who would know about that very thing! And so I was just wondering!

You know.

This isn't going to go well.
